I've got knoppmyth installed on a 1ghz athlon, 1gb ram, 40gb HD. Modest specs I know but they should be adequate for my needs.

My capture card is an old phoebe tv master (with FM). card 22 I believe. This card does work in linux; I had it set up years ago on an old linux box, working with the bttv v4l driver.

In this box though I am unable to get it working. All I get is a blue screen, sometimes with a green section, and noise. I've hooked the cable up to a tv using the same line so I know it's getting a feed.

Any idea what else could be the problem?

My /etc/mythtv/modules/bttc file:

alias char-major-81 videodev
options bttv card=22 pll=1 tuner=6

(by the way, what does the pll argument refer to?)

Thanks in advance,
Matt

You are certain you are using tuner and not composite or svideo as the input?

I am fighting with my Poebe TV master +FM now.
I have the following information from the card

BT878KHF CPH050
Philips 3131 FM1236/PH Tuner

I have run through the mythtv-setup and completed all 5 steps. I am having two issues:

1) When I go to watch tv, the screen is mostly green and some static. I have also gotten some out of frequency messages when

2) When attempting to connect to datadirect, it seems like nothing happens. I have setup an account and can see listings online, but my myth box fails to connect. When attempting mythfilldatabase, i get a host not found error. Network is installed correctly.
