Hi Aaron.

Did you get the remote working? If so, can you post instructions?

Thanks,
james

He he... not a list on this BB, that would be why. Sorry! I was in a rush and didn't have time to look for my print outs. I haven't actually tried this myself, it is a project for this weekend / next week. Would be interested in hearing how you went with it.

Hope this helps.

james

Ok, works fine now. Did this:

--------------
Added to /etc/init.d/local:
/usr/sbin/lircd -H dev/input -d /dev/input/event2

Added to /etc/modules:
modprobe ir-kbd-gpio
--------------

Ok, so now the only problem is the keymap which is known up. Can't navigate with the keypad for example, and the record button is on the info-button etc... :) Someone got a good keymap? Got the lircd.conf from somewhere on this forum, but I guess I need the lircrc (/home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircr) as well...

Cool as... glad to hear that worked for ya. I don't know how many hours I spent on Google trying to find instructions for that.

Let me know if you come up with a good keymap solution.

Thanks,
james

Yeah, I know how you feel :)

I'll up the keymap when I feel I'm done. Should perhaps write up a wiki-article for this card-remote-combo as well.

PS. TRying to find a good media player (both TV and videos). Xine sucks in image quality and that it has that blue line all to often. Kaffeine any good? What's some good settings?

Ok, so the remote is working. I modified ~mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc and changed all the keys to match entries in /etc/lircd.conf. When I reboot, it continues to map the keys with the reversed up and down and not much else. Why won't myth use the lircrc located in it's home directory??

jimmy, I have the same problem. even if I trash the lircrc file, the keymapping is STILL messed up in mythfrontend!

Edit: PG... lame, but ok then, it's christmas :)
