Hm...
Hooked up speakers and tried to play a recording.
Voila! Sound! Jumpy sound, far worse than when I played it in "videos," but sound nonetheless.
Thoughts?

Hi raffir,
I 've had a problem similar to yours. My configuration was very different: myth 0.16 both backend and frontend works fine with the ivtv driver i (unstable) and the PVR 150 (type 1041, PAL, non-MCE). But when I tried to watch live tv on another machine (secend, remote frontend on a Suse 9.3 distribution, myth 0.16 self compiled) I got the system hang up completely. The following resolved the issue partly:
I did some playing around with the video settings, make the remote frontend initially using a small GUI size (lets say 640x480) and let the remote frontend play in a window. After doing this I got a video. So it seemed to me that the size of the display was not reported correctly and that this caused the crash in the default sull screen mode.

Again, I 've a really different system on the remote frontend, but maybe this post will help you to solve your problem.
Regards
F.

Thanks to everyone.
I reinstalled MythtTV (too many hard resets corrupted the swap partition, I think, and no amount of fsck could bring it back) and DID NOT install the nVidia drivers, and let it use the default nv drivers.
TV now works.
Now if only I could get the tuner to work, as that seems to no longer work...
But that's for another thread.
Thanks!
