one more question. I found the specs:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/gene ... 7013&lc=en

When it gives me the refresh rates, it has 2 values split with a /. is the first value (and larger value) the vertical, and the smaller the horizontal? or is that just showing the range?

Yes, vi is the One True editor. All others are pretentious pretenders, and if you do not agree, you are prevaricating.

Why oh why does everyone hate ed so much? Just give it a chance. It is the standard text editor.

That appears to be correct: vertical refresh / horizontal sync

Could have fooled me:
Code:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\>vi
'vi' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\>

Why, oh why, does everyone (including me dammit) need to wage in when vi is mentioned? :?

Well, i went back into the config file and looked in the monitor configurations--it seems that its already set to the values specified on HPs website. I'm not sure if thats the correct area i'm supposed to look for, but i looked in the general area and the config was correct pertaining to the monitor...any other ideas?

Thanks for all the help, though....
