I just installed MythTV using an ATI TV Wonder card. I have digital cable from Comcast, but I have my MythTV box connected directly to the wall jack, so it doesn't get the digital channels (not a problem). I configured Zap2IT to get the basic cable channels, but when I browse in Myth, all of the numbers are off by one. For example: CNN is really on channel 26, but on Myth it's on 27, even though the guide says 26. How can I correct this?

Thank you
Mark

FAQ - http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-21.html#ss21.5 Scan down until you find "Channels are off by one".

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think the card is being misidentified. Here is the relevent dmesg output:
Code:
bttv: driver version 0.9.15 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:06.0[A] -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:00:06.0, irq: 17, latency: 32, mmio: 0xea000000
bttv0: detected: ATI TV Wonder/VE [card=64], PCI subsystem ID is 1002:0003
bttv0: using: ATI TV-Wonder VE [card=64,autodetected]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00ffffff [init]
bttv0: using tuner=19
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found
tuner 0-0060: chip found @ 0xc0 (bt878 #0 [sw])
tuner 0-0060: type set to 19 (Temic PAL* auto (4006 FN5))
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0
bttv0: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 .. ok

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again
Mark

well as far as I know comcast is a US company, and does not provide PAL signal anywhere, yet your card is being set to a PAL tuner type, so my guess is that yes the card is being detected wrong. Of course if you do live in PAL land then ignore this comment.

I'm sorry, I didn't notice that it was being detected as PAL... How can I change that? I am in the US and it should be using NTSC. I've tried modifying modules.conf as http://www.linuxlogin.com/linux/ati_tv.php suggests but it didn't seem to do anything. Thanks again

the file you need to modify is /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv
modules.conf doesn't do anything on the 2.6 series kernels like knoppmyth R5?? has.
