Hi aspain,

If you did an apt-get update then apt-get install mozilla-firefox (as root) all should be good to go. I did install mozilla first and only added firefox to check my information for you guys. It may have added something that is used by firefox, however I don't think so.

After you do the firefox install, all you should have to do is right click on your favorite desktop with the Tux watching his/her favorite knoppmyth show, select APPS > NET > Mozilla Firefox. That is how I use Mozilla & Thunderbird.

Adding it to a Knoppmyth menu would be another seperate project, besides Cecil and Dale have already given you a browser in R5A16 that works fine.

Thanks
Mike

Hi! thanks for your help. I reinstalled firefox and I always have the same error message :
Error while loading shared libraries libmozjs.so: Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

same thing when I try to load mythbrowser :
The KDE libraries are not designed to run with suid privileges. What type of privileges do I need ?

If I exit mythtv and run firefox, I have no problem.

Can I ask you another question ? when I exit mythtv, my screen is oversized and aligned at left. Is it possible to resize my screen ? (I use a PVR-350)

Is it possible to create a shortcut on the wallpaper, like Windows ?

Hi,
Oh kay, I think you are trying to make firefox work as another button in knoppmyth and that I have not done nor have an interest to do. I only run the "extra" stuff from the Tux desktop although you can run them with the frontend running and have no problem. The backend just keeps on doing what it does best!

To have a shortcut on the desktop will have to be answered by someone more knowledgeable than myself however, I don't believe so. Besides, It is handy enough for me to just do the right click, APPS > Net > Mozilla.

Are you using monitor or tv out?

Hi,
You can tweak that when on tv out. Will take a few back and forth sessions to get it where you are happy for framing. I have to go by memory for this as my machine isn't handy right now. These will have side effects also if you switch back to monitor out as the display will be locked to your settings.

In the Home > Setup/Utilities > you will need to change the playback settings and I think also in the appearence settings. Basicly you have to set the x & y offset ~20 and x & y gui to ~630 ~430, over scan about 7 ~ 10% . Change these (interactive somewhat) to frame your tv image. One of the settings releates to osd position.

I also make my all record profiles to be 640 x 480 instead of 480 x 480 (makes people look normal)

I hope I understood what you were trying to tell me.
Mike
