I installed the nvidia drivers and swapped the XF86Config-4 with the nvidia tvout sample

now when i start the computer, it tries to go on the TV, but it just has some white dots, then back to the monitor, then TV, then monitor, then nothing, both screens are blank and I can't do anything!

How can I start the system without it starting the GDM, I just want to be a the command prompt so I can change the XF86Config-4 file back

<CTRL><ALT><F1> will take you to the first virtual terminal. Make whatever changes yo want then restart GDM. Are you hooked up to a TV or monitor? The sample is set to use svideo from a card.
