I am a dangerous Noob, proceed with caution!

The menu under media library:

Watch TV
Watch Videos
Listen to Music
Play Games
etc...

now only has the Watch TV option. I am not sure what happened, I installed a couple extra applications with the package manager (two diffferent graphical file managers) I am going to guess I did something else too as I don't think this could have deleted a submunu in myth, but I don't know what it could have been.

I have a backup from my upgrade to R5A16, can I replace the file I messed up from that, or maby from the install CD? If so how, and what file did I mess up? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Sounds like you may have uninstalled mythplugins....
Code:
dpkg -l | grep mythp
Should yield:
Quote:
ii mythplugins 0.18.1-1_i686 Plugins for MythTV.

Yep, you uninstalled the plugins. You can reinstall the deb as is it under /usr/src/mythtv. Depending on your hardware i586 or i686.

Actually it turns out I uninstalled a library which it needed, or so said dkpg, the synaptic package manager showed mythplugins as installed but broken, so I reinstalled the library and then mythplugins and all is well again.

Thanks cesman

have a similar problem. When I run "dpkg -l | grep mythp" I get: "iii myhplugins - wrapper package for mythtv plugins"

Any suggestions?

FYI...I also had all of the options (optical disks, music ect) until I ran some updates on packages using apt.
