I was able to get a clean operational auto-install, however I have some Program schedule related problems. During the install, every time I try to change the initial time zone info from pacific to eastern, it will not effect the change, it for the most part reverts to pacific no matter what... Post install I can change the time zone and time during the setup, however I then download channel info and it is 3 hours off reality. It shows programs as being 3 hours later than they are. The local time of the computer is correct with eastern. I tried setting the offset for the program guide by -3.0 hours and the programs still come up as being 3 hours later than they are supposed to be. While I was not able to complete an install of rc4 prior to this for various reasons, I did have the program guide working and I though it was OK... Is there something in the xmltv config I can check and or correct to fix this?? BTW in the initial fetch of program info the first time listed is invalid at something like 28:00:00 and throws an error before continuing on the install.
Thoughts???
Doug

Ensuring the local time is correct, run mythtv-setup and dump the db, reconfigure and refetch.

Cesman,

Just so you know, I tried a clean install of a new system (Athlon 2000, IGP/MCP chipset using built-in nvidia graphics, 256 MB mem, 200GB HD) with R4v2 last night and had the exact same problem. (Wouldn't let me change to Eastern time). :?

Unfortunately, that wasn't my only problem... :( my network cable was disconnected at first so when it tried to download the listings/channels it failed for each day. For some reason I also can't watch any TV. (Despite the missing channel listing I figured it would at least let me browse around but it's just a blank screen with the icon in the corner).

[Edited: I originally had a comment about hanging trying to watch a DVD... apparently it's because the DVD was encrypted. I found that in another forum listing. ]

[Edited some more: I also had comments looking for a FAQ... I found that accidentally while looking around for stuff on encrypted DVD's. It might be cool to stick that as a sticky at the top of a forum, in the forum FAQ, or maybe a link from the main Knoppmyth page?]

just a quick not mythtv will not play if there is not channel data. Not sure why, but that is how it works not channel data no play. LOL
