I ear the sound 3 or 4 seconds after the video, view the tv, i search but i don´t view any reference about this problem, i'm newbye on linux, i'm an IT of micro$oft, and i put three weeks installing and probing mythtv.
I have an old HP Workstation, P3 733 with 384 RDRAM, an 160 Gb HDD and one old card tv, miro pctv with 848 chipset, and SB Live 5.1.
Please any help ???

you need to run alsa mixer and mute the linein or micin wichever you have the sound inputing to and set it as the capture device.

Its not possible for me save the audio of tv tuner, i hear the line-in but i don´t save, and i dont hear the not audio save.

I think your issue is horse power. A 733 mhz and bttv makes for a lot of work. It should work great with a pvr-350 because I run a 600 mhz with that card and have no issues.

He doesn't run a bttv. This tuner card is a hardware MPEG2 card, it takes care of processing the video.

I haven't had much luck with the bttv family mainly do to lack of cpu speed that I have available.

Sorry, i'm think i'm bad explained.
The audio i hear is the line-in, the problem its i don't save the audio tv and logically i don't hear after.
My old tv card PAL is and miro pctv, i have in card=1 and tuner=0.
I'm desperate !!!!

- We need more hardware details including the exact type of TV capture card you have. Brand, Model Number, Chipset, ...

- If you are using a YUV type of card (aka a "frame grabber" or a "software encoding") you probably need a loopback jumper from the capture output of your TV card to the line-input of your sound card for recording the audio track. You also need to configure your sound card so that line-in is used as the recording source but is muted for output. However as someone else said the big problem is that your CPU is underpowered for this type of card.

- If you have some kind of card that captures an MPEG-2 encoded video stream (PVR, DVB, ...) the audio should alrready be part of the stream.

My name is Eric Betts and I appear to be having the same problem as the thread starter (video delay while watching live TV). I was doing the usual first move; searching the forums, and came upon this thread, which is recent and for the most part unsolved. I thought I could offer my own setup as an example and maybe help to resolve the threadstarters problem at the same time as my own.

I am somewhat confused by the threadstarters grammer, so I am not sure if his problem was resolved or how it was resolved. I did look into alsamixer and muteing linein/mic, but linein is used as the audio souce (a bttv card) and mic is already muted. I am a Linux desktop user, so I'm not afraid to muck around and I have a working knowledge that continue to grow. First of all, some System specs

Some things of note: the machine has a very small (13gb) hard drive, I haven't done any show recording, and if I do, I plan to sshfs mount my main machines hard drive to save the recodings to. If required, I have a 200gb harddrive I can install knoppmyth onto (i'd prefer not). The machine has a gig of ram, which should help compensate for some of its other shortcomings, and the TV tuner card is bttv based (i'm a cheap bastard)

I would now like to open up for any and all suggestions, if more information is required, just specifiy which file and I can reply with it.

Muting in on output. Mute the line-in otherwise it'll pass through and the delayed video will have advanced audio. The was another problem folks were having with some newer SB cards but that's all the detail I remember, so I'll have to suggest a search for "audio out of sync" or "sound sync" (remember to check the "match all terms" box!)
