I noticed that there were two threads going for this card, so perhaps it's best to start one (and with the correct name rather than under the 771 thread I've been using!!)

anyway, the current situation with this card is that we do need some specific video4linux drivers written for it, at this stage I've been able to enlist the help of Hartmut Hackmann (from the video4linux mailing list). However, as I've said in my post on the AverMedia771 thread, he does not have this particular card, so someone (me at the moment) will probably have to send him one to borrow for two weeks or so while he works on the drivers..

Anyway, I've come to look for people who may be a little closer to Hartmut than myself (I'm in Melbourne, and he is in Hamburg).. If you're in Europe somewhere and don't mind giving up your card for a while, let me know and I'll pass on your details.. (otherwise I'll send mine, not sure what the postage would be like from here though!!)

Also, I'd encourage everyone with this card to join the video4linux mailing list, as we'll probably need some testers and the like when the time comes..

That's all the info I have for now.. if anyone else has anything to add, please let us know!!

Good word MjMcFitzy, I'm in Sydney and am also keen on getting a working driver. As long as it's not too complicated, I'm willing to help in beta testing anything that comes along.

Any news? I am in Sydney as well but am a linux Joombie. But would be happy to help if I can.

I am just building my MythTv box now but am a little hamstrung on the card(s) to get. The 771 was very highly recomended so I am keen to try the 777 if we can get it working.

I am currently trying to set up a box with the AverMedia AverTv 777 DVB-T and just wondering where everyone stands with this card.

Is there a work around yet, or is it better for me to go out and purchase a AverMedia AverTv 771 card??
