Hi there,
Firstly I really have to say a very massive thank you to all on this board for their assistance in setting up my dvb, and tackling the nasty ip problem. I now have both front and back with a specific ip and this seems to be working much better. I must say Edster at pvrguide has been remarkable as well. I look forward in future I am able to help others, as they have helped me.
So there are two things and I think they may be related so posting together. I have searched around for answers to these but not found anything ... yet - I will keep searching.
The first issue is the epg. I am in the Uk. I did the following, (3) set up the radiotimes feed - and had to add one channel so that it would finish.
Then (4) matched the video source to radiotimes. Which then allowed me to scan the local transmitter and populate the channel list with everything available. But I have no epg information. It seems like this is the only way to populate the channel list, but leaves me with out a mythfilldatabase option to populate the epg. Edster mentioned that I could get the epg info ota with a patch. I dont mind how it comes through as long as I can get it! tongue.gif
The other issue is the display of tv footage on the tv. (Everything is showing great on the pc.) I can see everything on the tv myth wise - except for any form of tv footage. If I output tv to full screen I get black full screen, if I output to epg with windowed channel - then the windowed channel is black.
I have hunted this down and not found anything yet. I feel it must be something to do with the output from the video card as everything else seems fine. Could this be something that goes in XF86Config? I cant see anywhere else in the myth setup that I can ammend the tv out card. I have looked in the terminal window as watch tv starts - and no errors occur. So I think everything is ok in Myth, and it must be the card.
My setup is as follows:
1.1 celeron
512 ram
aver dvb-t 771
geforce mx4000
running R5A16
Thanks in advance,
John

Well I am obviously finding this difficult arnt I? Please appreciate that what you may take for granted, others can find very difficult. So I am trying to sort this out and get this box running. As much as I dont want to bloat up the board, I dont care if I voice my problems and solutions publicly. I have nothing to hide, and I am not ashamed of my lack of knowledge or experience with computers, linux or mythtv. Now some of the pages on here are so far over my head that I have no idea what is going on, and I am fairly sure that would apply for almost everyone I know. Perhaps, and this is the hope that the little I contribute will help someone else.

Posting the same question multiple times does nothing but bloat the board and upset me. If you have a problem state what you problem is and what you did to try and solve it. If you need further assistance then ask for it. Some times I'll give you a straight forward simple answer other times I may lead you on so you can figure it out yourself (some of you have been on the forum for a while, you should know better). One of the things I want people to do on here is learn.
