I'm running R5A16 and just installed the other day I have pvr-250, & a pvr-150. They both are working but the 150's picture seems stretchecd, and becaue of it I cannot see the right 5-6" of the sceen. The machine detects this card 2nd and it is the second in my mythtv cards in the setup so it seems this card is only used if the 250 is recording something, or it i am watching something and then a recording starts thne the 150 is used and it looks all stretched. anybody know a way to fix this?
Thanks

Upgrading to the .40 ivtv drivers did the trick.

I am trying to get a PVR150 (NOT MCE) working with Knoppmyth. I went through the
install /configuration steps many times but with little joy. My current position is I have
static for sound and colored snow for a picture. I have tried many, many different entrys
in /etc/mythtv/modules with mostly no- sound no- picture results. I upgraded to 4.0 of IVTV
but that produced no static and no snow no matter what I tried. I feel that my entrys in
in IVTV are not correct. Could you post your /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv ... I'd love to see what
I'm doing wrong. I can probably sort out the 250 stuff. I'd appreciate any other tips/help
you might think appropriate....

Thanks

Hey darkunderlord !

Thanks for the pointer ... I read your blog and I had gone through almost the same steps except for the removal of the tuner & tveeprom modules... tried those but no go.
I was using the 4,0 release of IVTV... latest release is good?? WRONG!!. Installed 3.8
((ivtv: version 0.3.8 (tagged release) loading) and BINGO ! Great picture but no sound.
Since I heard static before I assume sound is possible. I've mucked around with my
/etc/mythtv/moduels/ivtv quite a bit so I'll look more closely at it now that I've got a picture.
Might even try the 3.9 release...

Thanks for your help

ME.

Ok...I got excited and left you the contents of /etc/modprobe.d/ivtv. /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv is here:
Code:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
#options ivtv debug=1
#options tuner type=2
options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
install ivtv /sbin/modprobe tuner; /sbin/modprobe msp3400; /sbin/modprobe saa7115;  /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install  ivtv
remove ivtv /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove ivtv && /sbin/modprobe -r saa7115 && /sbin/modprobe -r msp3400 && /sbin/modprobe -r tuner

Thanks for the additional code. Between you and darkunderlord I've had some interesting experiences with knoppmyth. I started this whole thing with a $10 KWORLD BT878 and the video that was on my MB. I did manage (with a lot of forum help) to get a picture but no sound... my experience said it could be done sooooo I went out an bought a PVR150 and a Nvidia 6200 video card. Tried Fedora FC4 (jason's howto) and Knoppmyth .... weeks of trying yielded very little until I got with you 2 guys. I was pleased to see both picture and sound.... ONCE ... after a reboot it went away ... was using ivtv 4.0. Downgraded to 3.8 and got a picutre but no sound. Finally went back to ivtv 2.0 (which came with Knoppmyth) and what do you know... picture and sound on 1st boot but disappeared on reboot. I'm now back to my KWORLD ... picture and sound over many reboots.... Think I'll stick to the KWORLD to get some operational time with Mythtv. My gut feel on these problems is there is some kind of weird intialization problem that rears up on reboot. Of course my shallow knowledge has not been very much help. Watch this space... A PVR150 for sale sign might spring-up. Sure glad this is a hobby and not a job...<<GG>>
Thanks for the help

Today is Friday Oct 21
New update........
Stumbled on IXREVENT.... remote is now working ... sort of. the licrc file needs some work .... and a bonus... sound is now working on WTBS. For my knowlegde level I think they should rename mythtv to mysterytv or miserytv <<GGG>>

******* Chalk up the stuff below as part of the learning curve <<<GGG>>> *****

Switched my PVR150 to my other system Discovered MB was fussy as to which PCI slot the PVR150 was using... moved it twice before FC4 would recognize it. Went through a new FC4/Jason myth install to find everything worked out-of-the box except for 2 minor issues. I get no sound on WTBS here in Atlanta. All other OTA channels are fine. Keyboard controls mythtv...... but the Hauppage remote does not. IRW works fine and reports all the button codes including their key labels. I found an LIRCRC file in /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc. I altered it but this did not change the IRW output. I MOVED the lircrc file to another directory but this didn't change the IRW output From messing around with my KWORLD remote I developed the impression that the key descriptions came from the associated LIRCRC file.
I obviously don't understand (nothing new about that !!) the relationship between lircd-conf and lircrc.... especially where the LIRCRC file is to be located. Looking for suggestions as to where to look. lircd -v >> lircd 0.7.2

Thanks
