I fixed the green screen and got the green and pink/purple problem. The lline of code that people keep posting works but for the life of me I can't figure out what file to put it in so that it's executed every time the computer boots up.

ok ignore the other thread I shouldn't have responded to it as it was in a completely inappropriate forum.

Anyways you will need to find out what that script you are running is actually doing. it is loading some modules. I don't know which ones I've never used dvd, would be a complete waste of my time as we don't get dvb in U.S. once you find out what modules it is loading you add those modules to the file I told you to.

Where else can I get this ivtvdev driver? The link appears to be down.
Anyone have this file on hand to send me?

Thanks.

Luckily, I saved it to my server. It's d/l'd automatically if you run my script that tries to auto-setup the pvr-350.

The driver itself is here:

1. On my new card changing the tuner type to "47" in the "ivtv" file fixed the snow, but still green/purple crazy screen

2. The command found in many places "ivtvctl -j reg=0x6c,val=0xfa -d /dev/video16" woks to fix the color problem and get you a good screen. I used this command at the console, the question is what startup file to put in in. There are many sujestions that I think work with previous versions but not with R12.

3. The solution is in the "ivtv" file.

#alias char-major-81 videodev
#alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
#options ivtv debug=1
#options tuner type=47
#options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
#install ivtv /sbin/modprobe tuner; /sbin/modprobe msp3400; /sbin/modprobe saa7115; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv; /sbin/modprobe ivtv-fb; /usr/local/bin/ivtvctl -j reg=0x6c,val=0xfa -d /dev/video16
#remove ivtv /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove ivtv && /sbin/modprobe -r saa7115 && /sbin/modprobe -r msp3400 && /sbin/modprobe -r tuner && /sbin/modprobe -r ivtv-fb

Notice the end of the second to the last line.

Hope this helps I was somewhat fustrated until I figured out this.

Hey guys this is my first time setting up mythTV. I've been trying for a few days now. I got excited whenI read this post because it covers the problem I'm having (pvr-350 shows static).

But after I followed the directions I still have static on my screen. When I perform the grep command to get my tuner version I get:
Code:
Aug 27 01:24:43 mythtv kernel: ivtv: Tuner Type 0, Tuner formats 0x00000000, Radio. . .

I tried using "0" in the ivtv file but it changed nothing. I also tried using "47" since many people here have said that is what they are using. But that didn't work either.

Any ideas what my problem could be?

search the forum for tveeprom to find out the correct way to find the tuner type if tveeprom doesn't find it then you will need a newer ivtv version.

Look for posts by me that include the word "sed" and "dmesg" . Those threads will also point out the specific bits of the extracted information to look at...
