After MANY attempts I still cannot view any television.
Here is what I have tried so far:

I tried what was said here to:

and after installing ivtv-0.4.0, I used this:

I mad these two files match up from the above page:
3a4803384f749d644ee1f1ca9dcb12fa /lib/modules/HcwMakoA.ROM
5f5fa240ada73c3565f5f7de4c7b5138 /lib/modules/ivtv-fw-enc.bin (from pvr_2.0.24.23035.zip)

I am really not sure on the exact flow because of all the version changes.
I followed this guys basic flow also:

I also tried editing the config files as he says:

I am kinda new to this whole knoppmyth thing. Thank you for anyone trying to help me.

Do you get static? Do you get a black screen? What do you get? Is your television on? Have you checked the backend log? When you stateIt simply isn't telling us much.

I get static, my monitor is on and I can use mythTV just fine, but when I try to watch tv, I get static. I have not checked the backend log, because I dont know what it is, or what it would tell me.

The backend log is the log that is created/appended to when the MythTV backend is started/running. If there are issues, this is one of the first places to look. With 0.4.0 of ivtv, you shouldn't need any special lines to get it working.

Its way too easy to be real.
I spent 7 days on this problem, just figured it out:
These are the exact steps take from install
It works...what can I say...UGH...

untar kernel
tar jxvf /usr/src/KERNEL-VER

Note: the tuner.ko and tveeprom.ko that reside in the
/lib/modules/KERNEL-VER/v4l2/
and
/lib/modules/KERNEL-VER/ivtv
RENAME all the tuner.ko and tveeprom.ko and msp3400.ko to .DELETE

wget new driver:

tar -xvzf ivtv-0.4.0.tar.gz
cd ivtv-0.3.5f/driver
make
make install
cd ../utils
make
make install
reboot
