Cecil,

I just asked author of MiniMyth to sync MiniMyth with R5V22
(because current version of MiniMyth 0.18.1.8 and R5A55 have protocol mismatch).
This missmatch prevents me using latest MiniMyth with R5A22 :-(

Here is replay form MiniMyth author about this situation:
(http://linpvr.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=429)
--------------------------------------------
I am not sure what KnoppMyth means by MythTV 0.18.2.

As far as I know, there is no 0.18.2 release. Sometimes the release-0-18-fixes branch is referred to as 0.18.2. However, both the 0.18.1 release and the release-0-18-fixes branch have MYTH_PROTO_VERSION=15.

The KnoppMyth changelog file says MythTV 0.18.2svn which makes me think that they are using a snapshot that they took from the MythTV SVN repository. Since the repository has no 0.18.2 branch or release tag, I cannot guess what KnoppMyth is using.
--------------------------------------------

May You help for author of MiniMyth and clarify about snapshot used for R5A22 ?

Thx in advance

Those reading the mailing list have learned that there isn't really any such thing as a "release" in Myth. The devs just take a current snapshot of their SVN and call it a release, even though it has not undergone any substantial testing or any other "release" process.

The upshot of this is that we often need to include things from current SVN to get better performance and fix bugs. This is what the devs advise (including the BDFL himself, Isaac).

So, yes, it's entirely possible that the current R5A22 (remember, that's "A", not "V") contains code from the SVN. I suspect the author MiniMyth will need to adopt the newer protocol pretty soon anyway, if the change is already in SVN.

I checked that version out and compiled it, and I still get protocol mismatch..

R5A22 = Version 18
0.18.2 branch = Version 15
SVN = Version 19

Well that is just odd (almost as odd as continuing your thread in here...). The debs are available on the ISO...
