Hi all,

First I'd like to thank all participators to this site for all the helpful info! I'm now the proud owner of a (mostly) fully functional mythbox and I'm loving it.

So, the latest endeavour, I've followed the IR Blaster howto over on the wiki, programmed my HiFi codes in and all works fine from command line. What I'd like to know is, is it possible to have mythtv turn on my HiFi automatically when I choose to listen to music (rather than having to map a keypress on my remote) and turn it off again when I exit the music part of myth?

I realise this would need to be a script but I don't know where to start! I've googled till my eyes bled and my fingers blistered!! (well almost)

It may not be the most important thing, but I think it would be kind of cool!

If you look in the themes directory at the XML files, you can see what commands run when you pick a function, that might give you a lead on where to start looking
