Hey guys (and gals),

I upgraded to R5A22 yesterday and the transition went flawlessly! (My compliments to the developers on that!)

But when I wanted to watch my recordings of last night I noticed that some channels are not working anymore! Most channels just work, but some commercial channels (Dutch: RTL4, NET5, MTV) just give static!

So I checked the frequencies in Mythweb, and they were unchanged. I also checked the frequency mappings in frequencies.c, but there wasn't a change there also. Also I checked if my settings were still PAL-BG, and they were. With Webmin I looked at the channel-table and the tvformat for all channels is 'Default'.

NOW I'M OUT OF OPTIONS!! My girlfriend is going to kill me for she is absolutely hooked on MythTV and those particular channels.

Please help me!

I've got a PVR-250 on PAL-BG.

Hi,

I had similar problem with one channel. It was black/white. So I had to finetune that channel. Before R5A16-->R5A22 upgrade finetune value was 35 and now new value is over 2000.
Hope this help.

Thanks for your reply! I tried retuning but I just can't find those particular channels!

I tried setting the tuner type to: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 28, 29, 38, 39. But they all don't work!

Is there anyone with a hint or tip for me?

Could it maybe be the Hauppauge driver? I really got no idea how to fix this (help?)

Will ivtv 0.4.0 work with the old drivers?

For me the same problem (I think). I'm also from Holland and all the channels named with E* were wrong. For some reason you need to fill in the whole frequency for good results. For more info, check this link: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/dev/144615?nohighlight=1#144615
My cable provider is upc, I can give you my list of frequency's if you need it.

Thanks for your reply ranjo! But I'm afraid this also didn't work! It's the following frequencies: 37(-48), 51(-48), 47(+32) and some others. I've got the 'europe-west' scheme.
It worked with these frequencies with R5A16, why not with the new release?

I'm really getting desperate now..

Is there nobody who can help me? I thought it would be easier to supply all possible relevant information so you could easily see my problem. Is there any information you need to help me fix this?

Summary:
- Some channels 'gone'
- Worked in R5A16, no frequency changes
- Finetuning doesn't work
- Tuning to frequency doesn't work
- Other channels are still working
- PAL-BG
- PVR-250
- R5A22 (ivtv 0.4.0)

Hey guys, I tried something else.

I compiled the newest ivtv (0.4.1) but that also didn't work. Then the 0.2.0 ivtv, but that also didn't solve the problem.

Next step will be changing the pvr driver. I'll try that tomorrow.

Ok so, despite not many people were able to hel me with this problem, I'll describe what I did to make it work.

So I changed to a different Hauppauge firmware and back. I tried ivtv 0.2.0. I changed the settings of mythtv to all the options (even the NTSC ones, while i'm in PAL-land). I even reinstalled R5A22! But nothing worked.

So last weekend I had enough: I installed R5A16 again. AND IT WORKED!

I think I'll have to skip R5A22. I was really happy with the release. It upgraded like a charm and has all those new features but it just doesn't work for me because of the channels i'm missing.

I did notice, however, that mythtv has new options in the tv settings. Like the PAL-BG option was in R5A22 but not in R5A16.. Maybe there is some bug there.. I don't know.. I hope a new release will be there soon..

I hope this helps someone..
