I have a Hauppauge 250 with a silver remote and I am wondering by default what each button does. On the bottom half there are two buttons that have no text on them. There are also four colored buttons with no text. One of the buttons is probably the record button.

This is set in your /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc which maps them to key strokes or commands. The list of key binds can be found here: http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-11.html
