i am a noob in general, my setup is this: pIII 866, 384mb ram and and a hauppauge pvr150 non mce. how do i install the ivtv driver for my turner card. it says to download complete with hyperlink, but how do i use this link within my knoppmyth os, any help would be great, thanks in advance

yes i have seen the how to on installing ivtv, but my question is how do i download the file with my knoppmyth os or should i download the file from my windows machine and burn it on cd?

Why not just upgrade to cesman's new release? It should work fine and a lot less grief.

CPU0: Intel Pentium III (Coppermine) stepping 01

Memory: 253780k/262144k available
works with pvr 150 or pvr 350

tried release 26 didn't work when i used the v4l, looks like i will reinstall and try it the other way unless someone else has any good ideas

Why the v4l? You indicate that you have a pvr-150 which falls under the other pvr-x50's. I had plug and play with both 150 & 350 including the remote. I haven't messed with tv out on the 350 using the A26 as the days are to darn short...

There are a couple of tweaks I do after, however cross those as they come up. Just watch the cache size, go one less than df -h and you should have no issue.

This has been one of the cleanest and easiest installs that Cecil, Dale & team have released. That goes for upgrade and install. Does get a little messy going from A22.

It is so lean and mean that I can also enjoy HD using an AMD 1.5ghz processor. Just need to figure out how to make DVI work now and a printer.

so you r saying that i should stick with ver 26 and select the 250 350 video source option and i should be good to go? what about sound which is onboard on mobo (not to mention so is the video card) do i use the 1/8 mini jack from the turner to the mobo? thanks for all the help

Yes. At least if this is a Hauppauge PVR-150 and not some oddball card with the same name.

No need for a jumper with a PVR card, the MPEG encoder includes the sound from the tuner (or other inputs) in the MPEG stream. Go read the section on TV cards here: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=PickingComponents

now can anyone tell me how i can change the video source without having to reinstall knoopmyth again right now when it boots up it goes right into the watch tv menu
