Hey, everyone. I had to packup my MythTV box for a long while for my move and I've just now gotten around to sertting it back up. But, I'm running into a problem:

When I go to Live TV, I get a black screen and the computer locks up. I can't exit, and I can't bring up the console using Ctrl-Alt-F1. Only thing I can do at that point is putty in and reboot it.

I don't know what's causing the issue. I had it working before. However, I did just change the XF86 file back from the Nvidia sample to the original because I wanted to get it working again on a monitor rather than a tv. When I plugged it into my monitor before the file change, it brought everything up on screen in green, and I definately had snow in LiveTV without a cable connection in the computer.

Then, I puttied into it with my laptop, switched the files, and rebooted. Now, everything is working perfectly on the monitor, but I'm getting this lockup with Live TV.

I'm using a PVR 150. And, I have no idea if this has anything to do with it, but I was searching the forums and tried running mythbackend and this is what I got:

Which drivers are you using for PVT150? I got my settings from
http://www.cs.duke.edu/~reynolds/pvr150/

I have the exact problem. I can get the 'mplayer /dev/video0' showing my some stuff in the window manager, but for some reason mythtv doesn't let me do that.

My specs are
ASUS GEforce 5200 based PCI card using DVI output to Sony Grand Wega
with a cooked up XF86Config-4 file
PVR 150 MCE

I am still using x11 extension in mplayer. My concern was that I still couldn't install the nvidia drivers. But where are the kernel-sources anyway? I couldn't find them

What version are you running? In the newest R5A?? stuff the kernel tarball is automatically unpacked for you. If you still haven't gotten this working why don't you move forward to the latest? It should take care of this completely automatically.

I got the latest image. I think it is R16. But the kernel-sources in usr/src was not available. I had a 0 byte .bz2 file for the kernel-sources. So I downloaded myself and tweaked it a bit to get nvidia running.

But it still doesn't show anything on my TV and mythtbbackend log files show:

R5A26 is the latest as of the 16-Nov-2005. Please see Cecil's recent announcement. It takes care of setting up the NVidia drivers without manual intervention, although you may still have to edit your XF86Config-4 file for optimal results.
