I recently posted about choppy video in xine. That has been corrected by upgrading to R526A.

One of the reasons I wanted to use xine besides menu support is that I want to use the sound out on the pvr-350. What configuration change or command line option do I need to set in the xine command line within the mythtv setup.

I tried the following:

xine -T --no-splash --auto-play=fhq --auto-scan dvd

After doing this, I still only have sound via the soundcard when playing the movie from xine with the video out going to the PVR-350 video out. It was my understanding that with xine, I could have the sound out going to the sound on the pvr-350.

As far as I know what you want to do is impossible. The only way to use the pvr-350's line-out is when it is playing a mpeg stream.

I route the pvr-350's line-out to the line-in on my mobo's sound chip. This allows me to hear sound from the pvr-350 and from mplayer or xine.
