I am using R5A16. I originally installed using R4V5 and this was not a problem. I have searched the forums and google and the forums with google looking for a solution to this problem and have not found one, so I am hoping someone can help.

When I exit from recorded shows, the audio hangs up for several seconds on the last couple of sounds played, resulting in an annoying repeating noise. It goes away and returns to the frontend. When I play videos (AVIs, not ripped DVDs) this does not happen. It does happen with MP3s. Everything works, but I can not figure out what I changed between the old version (R4V5) and the newer version to make this happen. I did try some of the alsamixer tips in the documentation to no avail, and everything I have seen regarding the audio problems does not seem to apply to the PVR250.

Perhaps an upgrade to R5A26 would be in order, but that seems like throwing out the baby with the bath. Any advice would be appreciated.

(This goes in the section where the dmix plugin is used.)
Lower buffer_sizes will probably work as well. The changed rate
setting doesn't seem to be necessary, as ALSA seems to convert
on-the-fly into 48000 Hz anyway with the SP/DIF output, but I've
still changed it just for clarity.

just search for 'skipping'.

Thanks for your response.

I don't have this configuration file (under mythtv user?). Any pointers as to where it might reside? I searched the whole system and did not find it.

I re-ran alsaconf to reset everything to defaults, and this clears the problem for a period of time. It eventually comes back though. As if there is some sort of buffer that fills up gradually. Sorry for my ignorance here, I am just a hack when it comes to this stuff.

The hang comes back within a day or so of watching / recording stuff.
