I just ran a fresh install of R526. I finished setting everything up, but I can't get my tv-out (S-Video) to work. (Using an MSI NX6200TC) I've been trying several things that I've seen posted to the board for the past few hours, but I messed up my remote IR capabilities of my PVR-150 in the process. Hence I just did a clean install.

I went in to my XF86Config-4 and added the following lines that I got out of the how to for TV-Out. http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... Transition

Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT,TV"
Option "TwinView"
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-70"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60"
Option "MetaModes" "1024x768,1024x768; 800x600,800x600; 640x480,640x480"
Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO"
Option "NoLogo" "on"

I can see the text on the screen when booting, but my frontend GUI just won't show up. Am I doing something wrong?

I would strongly suggest you ditch the twinview stuff and use tv output only.

Twinview is much harder to get working than a simple TV only setup... I made it work but it was never really satisfactory.

That should probably be 30-50 ...

Obviously, but you haven't given us quite enough info to figure out what. Try grabbing the example /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 from this page on the Wiki: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=XF86ConfigForFX5200HowTo it works for me and any number of other folks.

The FX5200 XF86Config-4 works great for the TV, but disables my monitor. I had it running in clone mode on twinview before, but I screwed up my remote when I did it. I just can't figure out how to get it back that way.

Trust me on this, you really don't want to use twinview. It mucks up all sorts of stuff like the Xv picture controls. If you want an example configuration there's one in my OLD Tier 2 posting for my original Shuttle SFF based KnoppMyth box. However I strongly recommend against it.

BTW - Given the topic you chose, the 5200 example is exactly what you were asking for since it "gets TV-Out to work".
