I'm running knoppmyth r5a26. I've recorded several tv shows to the hd and want to burn these to DVD. I see a utility in the myth menus (sorry, don't have it front of me right now to give the exact name or how to get there) for burning DVDs, but when I go into that, it doesn't show any of my recordings to select from. How do I go about doint this?

A somewhat related question, I have some dvr-ms files (recorded from mediaportal on a winxp box) that I want to bring over to myth. Is this possible? If necessary, how can I get these files into a format that myth will recognize and play?

If you don't know what program (most likely nuv2disc) you are using, how do you expect folks to help? Start another thread for your other question. If you taking "dvr-ms" you are talking off-topic.

Dont use the Nu program you need to use a prgrom called MythBurn. You first have to set it up and you run it from the web interface. It's already partially there but you'll want to update it to what's in CVS. Follow the How To on the Knoppmythwiki to get it going! ;-) It'll impress you.

Nuv2disc is every bit as functional as mythburn.
It simply prevents the user from selecting recordings that are not at the correct dvd resolution or format

What format are the recordings in?
Which card are you using to create the recordings?

Thanks for the info. I was unaware of the mythweb feature until you mentioned this. Wow! I found the dvd burn option and it's already there, but it apparently does need the update as link you gave points out. I'm currently getting the error:
/myth/mythburn/scripts/createintro.sh: line 69: 29.97: syntax error in expression (error token is ".97")
**ERROR: [mpeg2enc] Could not read YUV4MPEG2 header: system error (failed read/write)!

I'll try to the update this evening.

Question: Do I need to have the blank DVD in the drive before this starts, or will it prompt me in some way for it?

I forgot about that, I ran into it too. It's a known issue. You'll need to run a patch that fixes some syntax in one of the mythburn scripts. The Fix is here:

Did you use the cvs version? That problem was fixed in the cvs version in early November.
