I have comcast digital cable (Boston) and I'm missing several channels that i'd like to view/record. I have the tv card plugged into the coax (which has been split twice). This problem is likely due to the actual cable service or the line as it is reproducible with two tv cards and in linux (xawtv/mythtv/tvtime) or windows (dscaler/trials of all the $$PVR programs). Is there a workaround that someone is using in bean town? I've seen some posts where finetune can be changed to 20, but this hasnt helped a bit. I'm missing channels 13, 15, and most everything about 30.... but i seem to get all the home shopping channels. (Maybe all the others are encrypted?)

These are the freq's that scan tv finds. They look to be in an odd order, to me anyways. Note that I'm missing 13,15, and anything above 60, among other channels. So I get no espn, commedy central, etc...

Well, I have an answer. Boston has gone all digital, meaning that cable-ready tvs, tuner cards, etc can now only tune channels that are available over the air when plugged into the cable line. You now need a digital cable box to tune anything other than the basic channels. Apparently, you can bring in your own box (but it has to be boston comcast) or rent one for a minimum of 7.95/month. what a rip off
