I've got this problem with my tv-out, about 1/3 of the way down the screen the image seems to curve in on the right leaving a black cap and out on the left.

I can remove the black gap using overscan, but I'm kinda thinking that it shouldn't be doing it in the first place.

Anyone know what the problem might be? modelines maybe? And how I can get rid of it.

I'm running tv-out off of an onboard gf4 hooked to a UK PAL Sony 28" widescreen (not plasma or lcd - I'm not that posh) using the gf4's svideo out.

TIA,

You're a bit light on details. What does your XF86Config-4 look like? Particularly the "Monitor", "Device" and "Screen" sections. Which PAL standard are you specifying? Do you have the right Horz and Vert scan ranges set? Have you tried using nvidia-settings to adjust anything other than the overscan? How about xvidtune?
