I have a crappy ASUS P4S8X (Sis 648 chipset, Bios 1005 ) motherboard in my MythBox which keeps giving me problems with NVDIA ti4200 (8x AGP) video card and my Happauge PVR 350 card.

My machine has P4 2.4 mhz, 512 MB of DDR SDRAM, and 100 gig SATA Maxtor HD.

Most of these parts are about two years old.

I was wondering if people could recommend a new motherboard (that would work with this hardward) to replace the one I have.

Thanks so much in advance.

I see you have DDR ram thats very good. What about the P4? What socket does it use? If its a socket 478, you should have no trouble finding a good board. If its an older socket, your choices will be limited.

If it is a 478 look for something based on Intels 865 or 875 chipset. They offer the same performance. The 875 is the higher end more feature rich version....but some mobo makers have implemented some of the better features onto 865 boards as well kinda cheating intel :)
