I am trying to follow the instructions for installing with this card but can't find the file for my transmitter Ridge Hill, presumably I ought to have a file uk-RidgeHill?

If you use R5A22 (which was released with an SVN version of mythtv), the channel scanning is improved to the point that you don't need to specify any tranemitter info. Just do a full channel scan and presto. (Works in australia anyway).

I used knoppmyth R5A30 and I had to create the file myself, goggled for the values. Other methods like full chan scan didn't do jack for me. UK + Haup card. The scanning ought to be totally automatic and built into the front end as it is on commercial freeview boxes.

johnjohn r5a22 has a later version of mythtv than r5a30. Bare in mind that knoppmyth & mythtv are works in progress, and FREE. Basically that means you can't complain :P

Is it, but 22 is a lower number than 30? BTW I wasn't complaining, far from it, BUT I do often think it's shame when so much hard work is available to only the few as it's too hard for most to set up.

I'd love to see a pre-configured stripped down install for the recent all in one nforce430+geforce6150 boards. Seeing as it could be set up for the board knwoing the hardware is consistent (apart from the popular tv tuner cards and remotes) it should be easier to get it perfect.

I'm still trying it out and may well have to just get a humax9200t anyway if it gets too painfull. This is a test box to try out the GUI which is OK (but still a bit convoluted IMHO), havent got remote, tv-out or freeview radio working though :( This is prior to the real deal on a MSI K8NGM2-FID or Asus A8N-VM if my prototype (on old hardware) seems useable. I'm unsure whether this hardware is too new to work with knoppmyth, mythtv or even linux itself though.

All versions released after A22 have an older version of mythtv, which is why I mentioned A22. knoppmyth is improving support for hardware all of the time, but the best way to improve it is for people to tell the developers what they needed to do to get things working. I would have though a nova-t worked with very little effort (its a fairly old card now). Perhaps you should try a22 and do a channel scan.

Thanks for the replies and help, I will try version R5a22 and see how I get on. I am very much a newbie to this whole thing so it's proving to be a fairly steep learing curve

I see that a new version was released on 9th is there any chance this will solve the problem, I have read the changelog and to be honest didn't understand it.
