I've got my backend/frontend running well but have had this nagging question in the back of my mind. Is there a performance or video quality cost to running a dual head. My setup has both right now and is operating real well. From time to time I use the CRT to tweak things or pick recordings but usually I just use my SDTV and remote.

So the question is: Is there any advantage to having my XF86Config-4 set to TV only?

Yes. There are various Xv support issues with using twinview. You'll get better results using just the TV out. Search for the underlined keyords for more info. Using ssh to remotely access the box for tweaking is generally a better way to work anyway.
