I had a perfect setup and put my belkin omniview 2 port switch box in place to share my 19" lcd between two compyters and 1 keyboard/mouse, instead of two etc.

Now the mouse is ALL flaky can't click on anything or move it correctly, it jumps all over the place. I used to have regular Debian on this switch box and it worked OK.

Anyone have any ideas? I didn;t find anything while googling.

Have you tried unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in? I sometimes experience this problem with Windows on my switch box.

I have exact same issue you describe with my Belkin Omniview E Series 4-Port KVM Switch, on KnoppMyth R5A30

Ah ha! So I am not crazy :) I am using R5A30 also.

Yes I have tried unplugging and rebooting linux while its active, then exiting back to the desktop and it continues. As I stated earlier, I had a Debian sarge system on this same switch, and my 4 port Belkin at work, no issues there.

Its very odd. I did find an old post on google about it being an X issue. X doesn't like "dumb" switches and switching between A and B since it thinks the mouse was removed. But this isn't a dumb switch, its a real KVM switch not an A/B switch.

My XP box on the same switch (i am going to switch ports to rule that out now) has no issues like this.

I'll report back after switching ports and rebooting both systems.

I had trouble while setting my box up. If the KVM wasn't set to the MythPC during bootup, it wouldn't work right. But if I set the KVM before rebooting, it was fine. Then I could switch back/forth just fine, after it was up.

OK switching ports did not help.

What I did do is switch mice. I was using an optical mouse , switched to and old cheapie ball mouse, rebooted, and it works fine. I've switched ack and forth a few times, no issues. If this is god enough for POroblems/Resolutions let me know, I'll post it there.

I have not booted both boxes with the XP tower as the active PC however. Nor have I tried again with the opitcal mouse to see if it was some weird fluke. For the time being I'll use the older mouse, this is a temporary setup until I get a better tuner card and case and make a real PVR.

I use a logitech wireless keyboard & optical mouse and have done for a few years with no (major) problems. I can't (too far away, and wouldn't anyway) use an old ball mouse. My Mythtv box had freebsd on it at one point and the mouse/kb worked fine when running KDE or windowmaker.
