My box is all setup at home, I use mythweb to choose what I want to record and its always worked flawlessly. Today, I come back, expecting LOST to have been recorded, which aired a few hours earlier. Not found to exist in the recorded programs list, no where in the backend logs. Heres the kicker: it was still listed in the recorded schedule list.

Did mythtv just have a brainfart or something?

I've seen this happen on my box when the program guide data gets messed up. Certain time blocks would list fine then all of a sudden change to "no data" and the show wouldn't get recorded. There is a command like "mythfilldatabase -refresh-all" (not 100% sure on the option's name). That will reload all your guide data. Might help.

I've seen this happen for seemingly no reason I think twice in the 2+ years I've been using mythtv.

I had a problem when the "use onair guide" option was selected. I had scheduled it to record carnivàle and then the onair "now/next" info came through and changed the name of the show to carnivale which meant that it didn't think it was the same show and didn't record it.

I make sure i always do this after re-scanning channels now:
Code:
mysql mythconverg -e "UPDATE channel SET useonairguide='0'"

I also tried to record a one day cricket game made up of two sessions, one for each innings with a short show in between. I just hit record on both sessions in the EPG, but when it went to record it, it only recorded the first session because it though the second session was a duplicate of the first (the guide data for the two sessions was identical). Now, if I'm worried that this will happen, I set it to always record on any channel (which means hitting record a number of times in the EPG until there is an A displayed).
