Here's a weird one. I'm pretty sure this only affects my box, but channel 11 in the Bay Area "appears" to have swtiched the 11.1 and 11.2 channels. The Olympics are showing up if I record 11.2, and I get "NBC Weather" whenever I record 11.1.

This is happening on my production every-day 0.18 KM box. I don't recall doing anything odd to cause this trouble. I have checked the obvious things as far as I can. What could have caused my configuration to fall over like this?? So far only NBC (channel 11.1 and 11.2) and PBS (channel 9.1 through 9.5) are affected.

I have two HD-3000 cards and an HD-2000 in the box. Cards 1 and 2 are the HD-3000s and card 3 is the HD-2000. All are running as DVB cards. I have done the channel scan (is there a log of this saved anywhere?) with no changes. I have looked at the tables in mythconverg and there are some weird entries, particularly in the 'serviceid' and 'atscsrcid' columns. I think these columns are responsible for tuning the cards, but I couldn't swear to it.

That's the fundamental problem. I'm not sure exactly WHAT tunes these darned ATSC cards! I guess I never quite grokked the switch from "regular" to "DVB" when we made it.

Should I view this as an "upgrade opportunity" and do it over from scratch?

Do you think this is a case of the guide data not having cuaght up or is it some kind of inversion in the settings? I've got some sample SQL I can share for monkeying with schedules, along with the surrounding shells scripts to drive them. I use it as a wrapper for mythfilldatabase, to merge the schedule from a second source into my main schedule, for one channel that my the guide from zap2it has never gotten right. But inverting two channels wouldn't be much harder.

I'm getting some weirdness when I tune channels in "live TV" too. I'm suspicious that the stations have changed their program IDs or something. Two stations are affected. If I tune NBC manually, it will only tune 11.2 (as 11.1) -- it will never get the "real" 11.1. If I record using a schedule, tho, it will record 11.1 as if it were 11.2.

PBS is even weirder. Channel 9.1 never comes in at all, regardless of the subchannel I ask for. I think it's 9.3 that comes in when I manually tune -- for all five subchannels of PBS.

I'm thinking of dumping all of my channel information and reprogramming it from scratch. I can't see where the frequency and PID information is in the mythconverg database. I can see it in the "channel" table, but Myth doesn't seem to be paying attention to that table. I don't know how the fields of that table get loaded. I have done a DVB "channel scan" but it didn't improve anything.

In the days before DVB, I had a tool that let me scan from the command line and capture the output. I could see what the PIDs were for each of the broadcast stations and save the info to a file. Not that I'm looking for a "manual edit opportunity" here. If the automatic scan did the trick I'd be much happier with it.
