I just installed the newest version R5A30.1. The upgrade went as smoot as these installs ever go, having to resetup samba, hosts, fstab, etc.

Everything looked good until I took a look around at the new themes. I selected the minimalist theme, which I ended up hating. Low and behold, however, there is not setup icon for this theme so I can't even switch it back to something I would want to use. I've tried replacing the .mythtv/themecache directory, but that didn't help. Everytime I try to bring up mythfrontend it complains about not being able to find the Minimalist theme, which I also whacked from from /usr/share/mythtv/themes. It just keeps coming back like a zombie that won't die. Where does mythtv store the theme it wants to start up with and how can I fix this short of doing a complete reinstall. Which I refuse to do, this isn't that other OS after all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You need to poke the needed setting into the DB directly.

A search should turn up several postings by me telling folks how to do it. The readers digest version is:
Code:
mysql mythconverg -e "update settings set data = 'Iulius' where value = 'Theme'"

Ahhh, don't poke in the database too quickly. Some of the themes hide the menus that change settings so casual users can't mess with them. Try hitting the downpage button on your keyboard first.

If that doesn't work, you can always mess with the database later.
