Hi,
I am running the R5A30.21 version of Knoppmyth. In order to get a video output to my crt monitor after the boot-up text dialog I have had to swap out my PNY GeForce 6200 DDR 128MB AGP card for my old PNY GeForce GF4TI-4200. My setup is a Pentium 4, 3.4 with HT on an Abit Guru AI7 motherboard.
Is this due to the fact that the two video drivers in the distribution my be too old for this card or is it something else? Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

any chance your forcing output to the TV with a line like this in you XF86 config?

Code:
Option      "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"

that Forces output to the TV so when X loads your VGA no longer works

I'm at work at the moment but if I remember the X server couldn't be started.
I did not change anything in the config file. I would assume that it defaults to monitor output? I can refit the card and try again this evening. Thanks for your suggestion.

well if it shows on the screen the Xserver cannot start.. then you have to look at the XF86 log and see if its a modline/resolution issue. or just skip that step and try putting 3 or 4 standard resolutions in line.. 1024x 800x and 640x then restart X and see if your fixed.
