19 is simple to setup. I always set it up on Suse manually, but I had a slower (1 gig) computer with only 128 megs of ram and I could not load Yast,so I could not actually load suse. SO I downloaded the latest knoppmyth live cd did auto install, then I went and downloaded the .19-fixed and compiled. It is really a lot more simple than you guys think. Just follow the Very clear knoppmythwiki how to on this subject. I am only using this as a frontend, but it works fine.

Only thing I had to do that wasn't in the wiki was convert the password to the old style password in mysql on my backend.

yes most of the problems have been with all the addons not working with the new redesigned mythweb. The general mythtv 0.19 or actually 0.19.1 now is working well.

It has been stated that R5A22 users should no upgrade until there is a release with MythTV 0.19. As the next release will include 0.19, I'll leave the math to you.

I am still running R5A16 (since the old CD-ROM I intended to use for the myhtbox did not work, so I had to do the install with the CD-ROM borrowed from another machine). And since "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" I have stayed from doing any upgrade this far.

Will the new release be able to upgrade from A16 or will I have to upgrade to A22 first?

I for one am just excited to see a new release on its way. No rush at all, i'd much rather have less issues later, then something to download and cause stress now. THanks again guys for such a good package, not sure how i got by before.

I agree. Don't rush it. You guys have given me a nice stable machine that's working well at the moment. I will upgrade when the knoppmyth version of .19 is ready, and I'd prefer it was nice and stable too.

and yes, thanks for everything so far.

Sorry if my little joke was taken seriously, I've read the posts and know its going to be ready when its ready so I'm not asking. Sorry for trying to introduce a little levity.

I think enthusiasm is understandable. I can't wait either! There really don't seem to be that many update requests here on the board, so there must be a crap-load via IM and PM, I guess!

Folks, cesman (and company of testers) have gone through half a dozen test versions. They are working on it hard. But soon. "Real Soon Now".
