Hi,

I am having a problem with recording from the PVR-350 tuner with mythtv.
It only records the first 20 frames or so (a bit less than a second of video). Then these 20 frames are recorded again and again for as long as the recording is scheduled.

This seems to me to be a problem with the PVR-350 hardware encoder that I am using. Am I recording the same GOP (Group of Pictures) over and over again ?

I have searched this forum thoroughly on the subject but nobody seems to be experiencing any recording problems.

My setup:
Old PIII-566 systems with 256 MB RAM, 40G HDD
PVR-350
Knoppmyth R5A30.2
ivtv version 0.4.0
X windows TV-out enabled via script R5Alpha30.2-pvr350.pl and working.

The PVR-350 hardware is OK as I can record fine with the same setup running Windows.
I am also able to record video using the PVR-350 from the command line with:
cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg
The video recorded this way plays back just fine with mplayer.

The problem only occurs when recording in mythtv. I have tried all the different methods I could come up with:
-pressing record while watching Live TV
-scheduling a recording with the EPG
-schedulling a manual recording

The ivtv driver seems to initialise OK:

Check the md5sum values on your firmware. I'd suggest following the ivtv 0.4.3 upgrade procedures on the wiki simply becasue it includes installing new firmware and doing this check. http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CompileIvtv
