I have been reading the 0.19 release notes as well as the link for the "many changes to MythWeb", but unless I am missing something there is not much there. On my current system I have gone in and made modifications to MythWeb so when I schedule a recording from it, I can also set it up to run a UserJob (myth2ipod). I rely on this feature very heavily, and was surprised that it was not "pre-built".
My question is this: will the 0.19 MythWeb have that functionality built-in or will I have to edit the php pages again to add the functionality?

grab it and see!
Knoppmyth will be using the same mythweb as what's in myth 0.19 (won't it?)

just checked and no 0.19 does not have a user job field in the screen you get when you click on a program from the tv listings to schedule a recording if this is the place you are talking about. So I guess you'll have to mod the php again.

And so on, and so on, unless it becomes a feature.
rteichman, have you thought about contributing to the MythTV project? This sounds useful. Maybe toss it out onto the myth-users list and see if people like it, or have other ideas. You, or someone else, could build the functionality into the next release. I'm thinking of doing the same, if the phone interface is still broken. i.e. fix it and contribute the fix back to the project.

Well all I did was look up on some web site for the instructions on how to it, and then cut/pasted into my PHP pages. I think I found the instructions on the main MythTV site so I would think the "project" knows about it. Makes me wonder why its not already included

Best thing to do is go ahead and add it to the 0.19 MythWeb yourself and then create a ticket ( http://cvs.mythtv.org/trac/newticket) and attach the patch. You can't fail to get the notice of one of the devs if you do that. You also get the good feeling of giving something back to the project to help others
Just because you saw the information on the mythtv site doesn't mean any of the devs also saw it. There's so much junk on the lists, mainly the user list, that its easy to miss something.

In 0.19 mythweb there is checkboxes for using user jobs.
User Job #1:
User Job #2:
User Job #3:
User Job #4
So If you define a userjob, it should be executed.

my 0.19 doesn't have anything about user jobs in it, though it does have 4 blank lines with checkboxes next to them. Are those the user jobs?

Strange, the userjobs is between Auto-transcode and Inactive.
....
Auto-flag commercials:
Auto-transcode:
User Job #1:
User Job #2:
User Job #3:
User Job #4:
Inactive:
Auto-expire recordings:
Record new and expire old:
No. of recordings to keep:
Start Early:
minutes
End Late:

of course I don't have any user jobs defined, but that's what I see maybe it's a bug.

X, If you had user jobs defined when setting up a recording the names of the jobs would be in those blank spots. What rteichman is referring to is a little hack where is adds a user job button to the recorded program list. This allows you to start a user job to a recorded program after the fact. I believe this may have been submitted to mythtv by Paul E., but it never made it in the release I guess.

Actually what I was refering to was the checkbox that ille was refering to. I'm running an older R5 release and my version of MythWeb did not have it. I had to code it in. Thus I guess my answer is that it is there now! YEAH
Actually my system has been running great, the only reason I am even thinking of upgrading is to be able to upgrade my iPod to 1.1 .... I need the features in 0.19 to allow me to make use of the upgraded myth2ipod which allows me to upgrade my iPod version. Sheeesh this interconnected stuff can be a pain!

rteichman, you don't really need the features. You can upgrade just nuvexport if you want. You can also just modify your current myth2ipod script to use mp4box after it encodes. You can use the installer or follow the directions at the site to install mp4box. Then just add the post processing lines to your current myth2ipod output. You could even do this manually.
The best part about the updated myth2ipod, though, is the commercial removal. I love this.

Unfortunately I do. My version is so old/screwed up that I have not been able to get nuvexport to work nor have I been able to upgrade it. As a matter of fact I was unable to even upgrade ffmpeg per your latest directions.
Yeah I am really looking forward to the commercial removal! I figure I have 2 options at this point; use the latest release and reinstall from scratch or wait for the new version and reinstall. It seems that the new version is fairly close to being released so I figured I might just as well wait.
