Can you narrow that down a bit?

- The cable box needs to decode the digital signal for you.

- It's output then goes to your TV or your capture card.

- The box can output and the capture card can take the signal in any number of ways:
    - S-Video
    - Composite
    - rebroadcast on some channel like 3 or 4

There are also other ways to get the signal from a cable box like Firewire (see the DTV forum).

- For this to do you any good you need to be able to control the cable box. This can be done via a serial or firewire port, or using an "IR blaster". An IR blaster is just a IR transmitter that allows your system to emulate the infrared signals sent by your remote control.

Yellow RCA phono jack is "composite video". Red and white are audio R&L.

Search for "IR blaster" or "cable box" for more details.

The short answer is, "That's the whole pont of having an IR blaster." Oh and the PVR-150 (non-MCE) comes with one.
