Well done on another great release guys. I've been running R5A26 for a while on my epia M10000 with a Hauppauge Nova-T & I'm well happy with it.

I've done a fresh install of R5B7 onto a newly installed HD & can't seem to pick up any channels when I scan, it just get a timeout.. I'm putting in the transport ID's manually, same way as done in parkinpants' guide.

Nothing has changed in my hardware config and the dvb signal seems fine, my backup (the old dvb box) seems to work without any problems..

Help! Is dvb broken?

Here's what a dvbscan gives.. On my 0.18 backend upstairs this generates a full list of channels & info, but on my 0.19 machine downstairs here's all I get...

Code:
dvbscan uk-WinterHill | tee channels.conf
scanning uk-WinterHill
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
initial transponder 754166670 0 3 9 1 0 0 0
>>> tune to: 754166670:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_AUTO:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_2K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE
WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!
>>> tune to: 754166670:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_AUTO:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_2K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE (tuning failed)
WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!
ERROR: initial tuning failed

Done.

Why not generate a channels.conf file and import it. That's what I did (I am using R5A22) and I believe that facility is in the new 0.19 version of myth

something like

./scan dvb-t/canberra-au | tee mychannels.conf

will generate it. More info on http://www.linuxtv.org/

Or try it without the transport IDs.
I just told my DVB-T (Avermedia 771) card to do a full scan and it pulled in a load of channels.

I have an Epia m10000, nova-t and pvr250 and the pvr works but not the nova.

At first I managed to get it to scan after entering the transports manually and it found all channels - but had no live tv.

Only clue so far was this
Quote: "DVB#0 WARNING - unsported bandwith parameter"

Well I then removed the pvr and tinkered some more. I can receive 3 transports here with mostly the same channels and that may have messed things up a bit.

So I manually scanned for channels and edited out the the channels in my channels.conf so i only have one entry for each. Then imported the channel list and things are working :)

I don't really know what made the difference ....
