I just installed a new DVD burner. When running Mythburn, I get the following error. What permissions should I set?

unable to open64("/dev/dvd",O_RDONLY): Permission denied

Search for "cd_link.sh" . The discussions around that should provide all the info you need.

I had a similar problem with the permissions for allowing mythburn to access /dev/dvd. The following code fixed the problem.

Code:
usermod -Gcdrom www-data
/etc/init.d/apache restart


Of course it may be included in the script tjc referenced. I wasn't familiar with that one.

Run cd_link.sh first then do that. Seriously however, search for the discussion. There is a full on troubleshooting session that covers amost all the little oddities you might run into.
