Current configuration is
:::::::::::::::
K7S5A Pro. Rev 5 Motherboard
3Com 3C905 NIC
Sound Blaster Audigy (not currently connected to speakers, hence untested)
GeForce FX 5200 AGP video card with 128MB
1Gig of 184pin SDRAM PC2100
and a
Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 PCI Interface Video Recorder

For testing I am using a LONG Coax cable that runs to cable outlet in the living room. I have not yet started using the s-vidio out.

:::::::::::::

Sorry if I'm vague, but after some playing with it I am able to record a Cable show (also rip a cd and play it using the sound card and external speakers. That is the last time I do that, however, it locked up the PC for 20 minutes or more) to the hard drive. However I am unable to view TV (live or recorded) on the Monitor. I assume I should be able to do this?

Results when I try to watch TV are: Flash of blue (most times) followed by a black screen upon which, after about 10 seconds, appears this
1: composit 0
which then fades to black. I do hear some hard drive activity but that is all.

Suggestions?
More info that I can give?

Thanks

Ted

you didn't set things up right in mythtv-setup. It is trying to record from composite0 instead of Tuner0 (which is used for analog cable).
Go back through mythtv-setup and make sure you have your card video sources and input connections setup correctly.

Nope. Just did that. Did not make any difference.

Thanks

Forgive me. I spoke too soon. I just rebooted the knoppmyth box and now when I try and watch TV on it I can flip through the channels (with information about each channel) but all that comes out is static (also no sound)

With help I am getting closer.

Thanks.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Ted
