I have a need where I would like MythTV to automatically start watching TV instead of coming up to the main menu. Can someone direct me to where I might be able to control this?

I actually need my backend to automatically view a video feed and a remote frontend to also view that feed.

Thanks
Brian

I don't know if there are other ways (editing menu xml files etc), but MythTV 0.19 in R5B7 has a telnet interface so you can control it from another PC with a script maybe? Whats the application?

I'm actually experimenting with using it at my work. I am IT for a Credit Union. We have multiple 42" plasma screen that shows industry news and also custom ads we create. The connection is a paid service per connection. We have permission from the provider to add as many screens as we want.

We have other branches, some via fiber and some via T1 connections.

I want the system to automatically come up viewing the feed from both the main box and the remote frontend. The feed is actually coming from a proprietary PC that gets the news from the service via Internet and connects via S-Video. Our Plasma screens have everything.

There are many other uses I see for MythTV in the company. This is only the start.

Thanks
