Hey, I would recommend at least 512mb of ram for windows XP.
I've heard that at least the air2pc rev2 will work but i'm not sure about rev1 nor have I even heard of it. I think the ATI HDTV wonder will work with R5B7 but thats something that i'm actually wondering about myself because newegg has one for about $120 that comes with a remote and an antenna at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6815116310
So if anyone could confirm this it would be great!
Your CPU and video card look fine if you use hard ware MPEG2 decoding for playback which is XvMC in linux and DXVA in windows.

i am sorry, i was not very clear as to what i am doing,
i have many machines but want to use the celeron for mythbox, and i have a windows box i use for tv, i currently have the ati hd in the windows box and i love it, but i cannot get the files encoded right when using hd, so i was hoping to use mythtv and let it do all that....plus i want so that when i leave home, i do not loose my recordings because i am not there to do it.....
i got my ati hd card from the ATI store (online) and it was $119 shipped....
i got the air2pc rev1 for $24 shipped on ebay.....
my idea was that if i want to use my peronal pc to watch hd, i will have the ati hd right there, but always have the mythtv box doing the recording and encoding to xvid or h.264....

Oh, in that case to save you the trouble, I recommend you just use ProjectX to demux your recordings and then use VirtualDUB to edit them and compress them in Xvid. This will show you how to use it.
P.S. I would still like to know if the HDTV Wonder works with R5B7...

i am downloading the iso for R5B7 right now, and i have an extra hard drive, i will try to get it working in my Windows box, as i know my antenna and everything else is working great in the current setup.....
also this project x is will work for NTSC HD?? The problem i have been having with the hd recording i have made in windows is that i use vitual dub and xvid, but the audio and video loose sync.....and i have not found anything that will work, and i have tried tons of different recordings off nbc, so i have to deal with 1080i....
i will get back to you with the results of the ati hd card later after i get mythtv installed....

No such thing as NTSC HD, it's a contradiction in terms. Do you mean ATSC?

I think NTSC is just standard analog TV and ATSC is Digital TV.
What I do to convert recordings in windows is demux them with ProjectX (which is free and very small btw) and load them in Virtualdubmod where I edit them and save them as a Xvid AVI.

A 2GHz Celeron is seriously underpowered if you want to display HDTV files on that computer. If it's only a backend for recording, the horsepower should be fine.

You should be running at least kernel 2.6.13 for the correct driver. "uname -r"
