Hi all,

Just installed KnoppMyth. (manually tweeked bits of it due to using SATA hard drives)

Hardware:-
MSI RS480M2-IL (using onboard audio (ATI SB400) and video(ATI Radeon XPRESS 200))
AMD Athlon 64 3GHz
1GB RAM
2 x 250GB SATA HDDs
(stuff)
Panasonic 42" plasma connected via the VGA interface.

Problems I've got are I cannot get a simgle peep out of the soundcard (onboard). I'm connected via SPIDF and to be honest I haven't checked the analogue audio output (as the back of the machines hidden in the "Amazonian Jungle of Wires"), but the soundcard is recognised fine, the drivers load fine and alsamixer appears to work fine.

I did once get an error about the software couldn't convert 44000Hz to 48000Hz.

The next problem is MythTV live playback stutters badly, very jerky video (virtually 1 second pauses every 3~4 seconds).

I have installed ATIs drivers.

Playing video using dvbstream & mplayer produces nice stutter-free video.

I can select the X11 or xv video driver layer when using mplayer, and both work fine.

Last problem I'm having at the mo is I can't set the screen res to 852x480. Looking at the diag output of X I can see that this mode IS listed, its just not in the list of VESA modes, and I can't select it.

Any tips, help or advice appreciated!

P.S. The "manual tweeking" I've done to the installation was:-
Partitioning the HDD manually.
Installing LILO manually (the auto installer didn't install it)
Performing an "apt-get upgrade" and "apt-get update"

I'm in the process of getting the latest sources of MythTV and I'm going to build it on my system, optimised for the A64, see if that makes any difference but I can't see that getting rid of the stuttering as it can't be a speed issue as mplayer has no problem.

Are you running Pvr-250 and HD3000 cards.

I have the same motherboard and same issues.

I am recording from DirectTV from another backend. I have no audio and jerky video.

I think you need to go into the xorg and turn off opengl sync to fix audio.

How the heck do you fix the no audio issue. I cannot get analogue to work at all. I even changed the soundcard to a supported one.

Nothing.
