I just upgraded to R5B7 and know I have no sound. No sound plays from live TV, or the old TV recordings I had, or even some of the videos I had on there don't play any sound. when I did the cat /proc/asound/pcm
I get this
Code:
00-00: Intel ICH : SiS SI7012 : playback 1 : capture 1
00-01: Intel ICH - MIC ADC : SiS SI7012 - MIC ADC : capture 1

The sound was working fine before I upgraded. What did I do?

With my system Digital Out is on by default when I install, so I need to go into alsamixer to fix it up. Have you run alsamixer?

I feel like a complete idiot! The reason that there was no sound was because in the mixer the master volume was turned all the way down. I never had it set to 0 when I installed before so I never bothered checking it. Then I noticed that my recordings were really quiet, so I check the volume in the recording profiles and sure enough, it was at 90%. Turned it up to 100% and now everything is fine. Never had so much trouble with an upgrade before.
