The bios level black and white issue is what bothers me the most. Please note that the card is outputting a color signal as I can see color on a different tv set. The card is at least working in that respect, it just seems like my Magnavox tv doesn't seem to like what it's being fed (although the other two video cards I've tried work fine).

tjc, do I have a chance to get color if I'm not getting color where I should when the computer posts?

Thanks guys...

Just if somebody looks through here:
I own a MX-400 and solved the black-and-white problem (European PAL) with
1) a much better S-Video cable
and
2) setting Option "TVOutFormat" "COMPOSITE" ("SVIDEO" did only show a b/w picture - VERY strange)

not so strange if you are using an svid to composite converter anywhere, as svid separates b/w and color whereas composite does not.

Also check the card or the BIOS to make sure they're set for the right TV output format (NTSC/PAL) on the TV out connector. On my old Nforce2 IGP mother board (currently playing surrogate workstation) it's a BIOS setting. On my ATI 9200 video card (in the broken workstation) it's a jumper setting.
