Comes up with an 'invalid argument in option spec' error.

apt-get'd the latest xmltv-utils and it worked fine.

xmltv-utils doesnt exist as a package?

What did you type?
"apt-get install xmltv-utils" ?

to update this you whould first need to run apt-get update (i made the same mistake)
