I have just upgraded from R5A19 to R5B7 and in the upgrade process my full feature DVB-S card (Technotrend DVB-S 1.6) was lost. The boot process finds only my DVB-T card (Technotrend DVB-T 1300, Philips SAA7146).

This is sort of sad, since I was originally afraid of getting into kernel/driver compilation/installation hell with these cards when setting up my mythbox, and I was extremely happy with Knoppmyth when both cards were correctly recognized by the R5A19 install process.

But now... Are there any known issues? Any hints?

Aha, the problem seems to be "dvb-ttpci: could not load firmware, file not found: dvb-ttpci-01.fw". And of course the firmware file is in the /usr/hotplug/firmware directory.

Any hints?

See if doing an "rmmod" of the driver followed by a "modprobe" of it makes it work. If so, you need to rearrange your module load order in ./etc/modules so that the hotplug support is available before that driver module is loaded.

Hi had the same problem,
Had a look in /var/log/messages and could see that dvb-ttpci was loaded twice. I guess that hotplug is also trying to load it.
I removed it from /etc/modules to see which of the dvb-ttpci to do some troubleshuting -- And ... IT WORKS!!

Next problem vas that $HOME wasn't setup in backend startscript, so I put in HOME=/home/mythtv/

now Im close to having it working I can almost smell it. Im having trouble whith CA/CAM

good luck. :)
