My video preview (in Watch Recordings) plays the video files with weird colors, but viewing the actual recording is fine. Does anyone know what could cause this?

I had a similar problem a while ago. In my case, it was a symptom of running an i586 install instead of an i686 install. It was really easy to fix.

See http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5924&highlight=i586+i686 for more info.

also there are some known problems with the preview playback if you are using libmpeg for playback if I remember correctly.

but now that I think about it that may have just been preview images if you aren't using video. Heck I don't know my memory is not what it used to be.

I ran install-i686 last night and then rebooted. It didn't fix the problem.

XSecrets,
I am using libmpeg, but I still have the problem when I choose standard.

I've narrowed down the problem to the custom X and Y dimensions in Myth's appearance setup. If I set any custom dimensions (to get my GUI to fit the TV just right), then I encounter the weird colors. If I set the X and Y dimensions to 0 and 0, then my GUI sizes itself to my desktop size 1920x1080.

So I now have the option of having a correct looking preview window andan overscanned GUI that doesn't look right,

or...

I can have a funny looking preview window and a correctly GUI.

I guess I just can't win.
